When I think of Chelsea’s wedding I think of Dominique’s too (you’ll see hers featured on the blog soon!) these two best friends planned their weddings together and I was lucky enough to photograph both!! Thanks to COVID, both of their big days were postponed until summer 2021.
If COVID wasn’t going to be a hurtle, a forecasted hurricane would throw its hat in the ring! Luckily, we only got some wind the night before and the biggest team of family and friends came together to put together Chelsea and Christian’s backyard reception the morning of the wedding! We were also lucky that it only sprinkled here and there throughout the whole day and then ended with the most gorgeous sunset of the entire season!! I’ll never forget how excited Ty was (the videographer).
While the superteam got the wedding day ready, The girls celebrated early by popping champagne outside on the deck! Champagne pop pics will forever be my favourite, the reactions are the BEST! Chelsea’s bridal party kept me smiling all day and I truly think everyone enjoyed themselves. They thought it was me who made it effortless, but when you have a group of true friends celebrating a couple who is truly in love, my work is done for me!
Once the dress was on and the champs was popped, Chels and her father had a first look. It was only noon and everyone was already crying, which was only the beginning of the tears that day. It was such a special moment between daughter and father and photographing it was such a privilege. Next, it was Christian’s turn for his first look at Chelsea as she walked down the isle, but before that we had to gather a rogue flower girl and ring bearer who decided that going down the isle wasn’t for them and off to the side of the ceremony they went!
During the ceremony, it rained a little bit but that was definitely just a sign of good luck! Their reception that followed was on their property under a large white tent with modern, rustic-chic décor. Every detail was so perfect, my favourite being the phone station Chelsea’s mom set up so you could charge up a device if needed, so smart! and Dominique’s speech was one of the funniest I’ve heard during the wedding speeches! She had great stories to share.
Chelsea and Christian were a dream couple to work with. They are the kind of people that are flexible with change but don’t comprise on quality. If you’re looking for a sign to forget all your wedding plans and just embrace a “COVID 2021” wedding, this is it! Look at all the love, connections, emotions, and smiles that are overflowing in this gallery. At the end of the day, that’s the good shit. That’s the reason you want to marry your one true love.
It was an absolute privilege to document Chels and Christian’s wedding and I mean that from the bottom of my heart.
